Pumpkin Patches in South Florida.jpeg
When you hear "South Florida," what comes to mind? Sun? Sand? Palm trees? Now that it's fall—is it ever really officially fall in Miami?—we substitute Florida's sun, sand and urban tree canopies with apple cider, hay mazes and pumpkin picking!

We know what you're thinking: "There aren't any good places to pick pumpkins in Miami!"

That, friends, is where you're wrong. Contrary to popular belief, South Florida has an extra-gourd-inary albeit small selection of pumpkin patches that are perfect for families. So, dig up your pumpkin-gut scraper thingy, choose a Jack-o-Lantern design, and let's get to pickin'! Here are a few of our favorite local pumpkin farms near Homestead and Miami.

#1. The Berry Farm

Website

Miami's Berry Farm is hosting their fall Harvest Festival from September 23 to November 13, 2022. This Miami family event is incredibly popular, so secure your tickets sooner rather than later. Your admission grants you access to the whole list of farm activities, foods and zones, including:

  • A 5-acre corn maze
  • Hayrides
  • Shaded jumping pillows
  • Pony rides (extra fee)
  • Corn pit
  • Live music
  • A 15,000 square-foot turf field with games
  • Playground
  • Slides
  • BBQ
  • Ice cream
  • Pumpkin patch
  • A 24-piece obstacle course
  • Farmers market
  • Juice and smoothie bar

In addition to picking pumpkins and all the other fun things to do, guests can also pick and buy fresh sunflowers in the Sunflower Fields. The Berry Farm pumpkin patch in Miami is, by far, the region's best and coolest pumpkin patch for families.

#2. Pinto's Farm

Website

This pumpkin patch in Miami's Redland area is another favorite spot for families. Not only is it a great place for pumpkin picking, but Pinto's also has kid-friendly activities to keep the smaller ones (and even adults) entertained, such as:

  • Paddle boats
  • Pony rides
  • Tractor rides
  • Pedal karts
  • A petting zoo
  • Bounce pads
  • Slides
  • Magic shows
  • Playgrounds
  • Hay mazes
  • "Hay theater"
  • Goat yoga
  • And more

Pinto's hosts several seasonal festivals, too, like their dog-friendly Furry Friends Pumpkin Patch 2022 event. Admission includes unlimited rides, tours of the farm and a magic show for humans, and lots of belly rubs for the furriest member of your family, of course.

#3. Tinez Farms

Website

Last year's first-ever Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch at Tinez was a huge success, so it's no surprise that they're hosting their 2nd Annual Festival for 2022. From September 11 to November 27, 2022, you can visit the gorgeous Tinez Farms and pick pumpkins in Miami, tour the animal barnyard, ride the zipline, and more. Before you leave, take a pic in front of the Tinez Farms barn—it's a must-snap photo op!

#4. The Little Farm Miami

Website

This October, The Little Farm in Miami is hosting their yearly Fall Festival, which is always a blast. Saturdays and Sundays, from October 8 to 30, you can visit the pumpkin patch, pet and feed animals, try to get through the hay maze, ride ponies, and head to the Butterfly Garden to end the trip on a peaceful note.

You can also shop for fresh produce, eggs, and more at the market; prices are affordable as far as Miami pumpkin farms go. And don't forget to ask about their enormous cow Clarabelle!

#5. Santa's Garden (Pumpkin Patch Festival)

Website

You may not realize it, but Santa's Garden, the place you pick out Christmas trees in Miami, also hosts one of the area's best pumpkin festivals every fall!

From October 10 to 31, you can head to their Pumpkin Patch Festival at one of their four South Florida locations to pick pumpkins and enjoy a ton of activities, including face painting, pony rides, photos, and pumpkin carving. View their Instagram post below for more details and locations.

#6. Flamingo Road Nursery

Website

Not in the mood to travel north to Bedner's Farm Pumpkin Patch in Boynton Beach? Try out the Flamingo pumpkin patch in Davie! Every year, the Flamingo Road Nursery hosts their Fall Festival, which runs from the end of September through the first week of November. Guests can visit the pumpkin farm to pick fresh gourds, take hayrides around the property, and simply enjoy the 10-acre garden center. Best of all, this is a free pumpkin patch near Miami! (Just pay for the pumpkin.)

#7. The Pumpkin Patch

Website

This small mom-and-pop pumpkin patch has two locations: one in Cutler Bay and another in Miami/Kendall. They sell very large pumpkins that are perfect for Jack-o-Lanterns, but due to the smaller size of their farm, they do not frequently have any family activities, like hay mazes.

If you need to buy the best pumpkin for carving, though, give them a shot because they also have loads of tips to make the coolest carved pumpkins. Just call ahead to make sure they're open!

#8. Family Farms

Website

Although this family farm doesn't advertise itself as a pumpkin patch in Davie, it is! In fact, as hosts of their annual fall festival, Fall on the Farm, they not only invite guests to pick pumpkins, but they're also providing over a dozen activities, including:

  • Mazes
  • Pony rides
  • Petting zoo
  • Pumpkin painting
  • U-pick sunflowers
  • Arts and crafts
  • Hayrides
  • Children's hay maze
  • Live music
  • Bonfire
  • And more

The Fall on the Farm event runs from September 24 to October 30, 2022, and they also have special Halloween activities planned for the end of October!

#9. Hope Miami Lakes UMC Pumpkin Patch

Website

Technically this isn't a pumpkin patch farm in Miami Lakes, but it sure is fun! From October 1 to 31, 2022, the Hope Miami Lakes United Methodist Church is hosting their highly anticipated fall even, the 24th Annual Pumpkin Patch. Guests can pick pumpkins—these are delivered fresh from small pumpkin farms across the area and country—enjoy magic shows and live entertainment, roll around in the HOPE playground and tunnels, try out the obstacle course, and take a photo in front of their stunning Pumpkin Patch mural.
